📜 Rules and Regulations
At Annie Besant Matriculation School, discipline is viewed as the backbone of education. Every rule is designed to instill punctuality, respect, responsibility, and good citizenship. The following guidelines ensure the smooth functioning of the school and the overall well-being of our students.
🕘 School Timings & Attendance Rules
- Students must reach the school campus before 9.10 a.m. each working day.
- Morning prayer begins sharply at 9.20 a.m.; all students must attend.
- Afternoon sessions commence at 1.00 p.m.; students should return punctually after lunch.
- Regular attendance is essential for academic growth; parents should avoid granting unnecessary leave.
- Attendance below 75% will disqualify a student from promotion to the next class.
⏰ Late Coming Policy
- Latecomers will be permitted only up to 9.40 a.m. and must pay a fine of ₹ 1 per day.
- After 9.40 a.m., students will be marked absent and will not be allowed to attend classes.
- Students arriving late for the afternoon session after 1.10 p.m. will also be denied entry.
- Habitual late-coming will invite disciplinary action.
👔 Dress Code & Uniform Regulations
- Students must attend school neatly dressed in the prescribed uniform every day.
- Improper or incomplete uniforms will incur a fine of ₹ 1 per day.
- Uniforms should be clean, well-pressed, and modest in appearance.
- Hair must be neatly groomed; nails trimmed; shoes polished; identity cards worn daily.
- On special occasions, cultural dress may be allowed with prior permission from the Principal.
💍 Restrictions (Ornaments, Parent Entry, etc.)
- Wearing gold, silver, or costly ornaments is strictly prohibited. The school will not be responsible for any loss of valuables.
- Parents and visitors are not permitted inside classrooms during school hours without valid reasons.
- Parents may meet teachers only at designated times after class hours.
- Students are expected to bring only educational materials to school — no electronic gadgets or toys allowed.
🗣️ Grievance & Consultation Policy
- All grievances related to academics or discipline must be addressed only to the Principal.
- Parents may meet the Principal for discussions or suggestions between 3.30 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. on working days.
- No discussions or complaints should be made directly to teachers during class hours.
👨👩👧 Parent–Teacher Communication
- Parents must check and sign their child’s Handbook/Diary daily to monitor homework and remarks.
- Progress Reports must be signed and returned within three days of issue.
- Only the parent or guardian who signed the Admission Form may sign the Progress Report.
- The school encourages constructive dialogue between teachers and parents to support each child’s progress.
📖 Homework & Progress Report Guidelines
- Students should complete homework regularly and neatly as assigned.
- Parents must ensure that homework is done and verified.
- Homework serves as a continuation of classroom learning and helps track academic consistency.
🧮 Examination & Promotion Rules
- Students must appear for all periodic, term, and annual examinations.
- Absence from any exam without valid reason will lead to loss of grades or non-promotion.
- No re-test will be conducted for absentees except in exceptional cases approved by the Principal.
- Promotion is based on overall performance, not merely final-term marks.
📅 Attendance & Promotion Criteria
- A minimum of 75% attendance is mandatory for promotion to the next grade.
- Those failing to meet this requirement will not be eligible for the Annual Examination.
- Attendance shortfall due to illness must be supported by a medical certificate.
📜 Transfer Certificate (T.C.) Procedure
- Applications for Transfer Certificates must be submitted before 15 May of the academic year.
- A T.C. fee of ₹ 250 must be paid at the time of issue.
- Birth Certificate is mandatory for new admissions and for obtaining a T.C.
- If T.C. is requested after the academic year has begun, parents must pay for the textbooks or related fees for that year.
- T.C. will be issued only after all dues are cleared.
💰 Fee Payment Rules
- Monthly fees must be paid on or before the 7th of every month.
- Fees paid between the 8th and 15th will incur a fine of ₹ 1 per day.
- After 15 days, the student’s name will be removed from the Attendance Register and readmission will be allowed only upon paying the Admission Fee again.
- Fee payment timings: 9.30 a.m.–12.30 p.m. and 3.30 p.m.–4.30 p.m. (No fees accepted in between.)
⚖️ Code of Conduct & Discipline
- Students must maintain respectful behavior towards teachers, staff, and peers.
- Any form of misbehavior, rudeness, or malpractice will invite disciplinary measures such as warning, fine, or suspension.
- Students must keep the campus clean, calm, and courteous.
- Obedience, punctuality, and cooperation are the pillars of good conduct.
🏫 Damage to Property & Compensation Policy
- Students are expected to take utmost care of school property.
- Any damage or defacement of property — furniture, equipment, library books, or laboratories — must be compensated by the concerned parents.
- Intentional damage will attract strict disciplinary action.
🎒 Holidays for Nursery / LKG / UKG
- All Saturdays are holidays for Nursery, L.K.G., and U.K.G. classes.
- For other classes, second Saturdays and government-declared holidays will apply as per the school calendar.
🗓️ Term Fee Payment Schedule
- In September and December, students must pay the II Term and III Term fees along with the respective monthly fees.
- Timely payment ensures smooth administrative and academic functioning.
